New contracts for Europe, Latin America and United Arab Emirates
Operating in the Energy, Mobility and Environment areas, Efacec strengthened its presence in several international markets, with new contracts signed in 2021, above 220 million euros, in a global portfolio exceeding 500 million euros. Efacec’ s results are in line with the business plan for this period, exceeding, by more than 35 million euros, the same period last year. The projects prove the company’s competitiveness and the recognition of its excellence in Portugal and abroad.
Efacec has been present in Spain for over 20 years in a significant way, with a relevant market share with the Spanish utilities, having been responsible for emblematic contracts with the main operators. Underway is the supply and installation of two 165 MVA and 185 MVA 132/30 kV transformers, destined for a solar park that will benefit 50,000 families with clean energy. A project that represents another great contribution to the production of renewable energy, avoiding the emission of toxic gases and supporting the sustainable energy transition.
Also in the Spanish market, the technological company is executing a contract that began in 2021, associated with the supply of several power transformers for one of the largest companies in the area, totaling more than 30 million euros, to be completed by December 2024.
These long-term contracts reflect the strengthening of confidence in the skills of the Efacec brand, as well as in the equipment delivery capacity, a critical factor for the Spanish market’s energy network. The Portuguese company thus meets its customers’ high standards of demand.
In France, where it has been present for over 30 years, progressively developing projects in the fields of Switchgear, Transformers, Automation, Electrical Mobility and Service, Efacec was once again chosen by a benchmark company for a new power transformer supply contract until 2027, worth around 100 million euros.
Still in the transformer business, the Portuguese company has established contracts in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Portugal above 30 million euros. These projects have various lead times, from 2023 to 2027.
As part of the export strategy for the Transformers area for Latin American markets, where Efacec has built strong relationships with several utilities in Argentina, Colombia, Chile and Panama, the Portuguese company was contracted to modernize several substations of the distribution network until 2023.
Efacec makes its debut in the Italian market with the execution of a contract in the Switchgear area exceeding 20 million euros and, in Portugal, it strengthens its performance in the Automation market with the supply of command and protection systems for the remodeling of power substations. Both contracts will be executed in 2022.
Following the recent launch of the new range of solutions for electric mobility, Efacec reinforces its place as a reference in the sector, with the signing of three new contracts in Luxembourg, Portugal, and the United Arab Emirates, with the supply of more sustainable products prepared for digitalization and Industry 4.0. These solutions are crucial for a more sustainable world and meet the greatest demands of the market, marking the future of society.
For Michael Silva, Chief Commercial Officer of Efacec: “All these projects are a source of pride for the company and strengthen our presence in Portugal and in the world. They prove the recognition of our know-how with the biggest players in the areas of Energy, Mobility and Environment and motivate us to always work towards excellence.”
