More than 25M€ and including the supply of 12 power transformers.
Red Eléctrica, the Spanish system and transmission operator (TSO) of the Redeia group, once again trusted Efacec to modernize the energy transmission network. The new contracts signed, worth more than €25m, include the supply of 12 power transformers for substations in the 400kV transmission network in Peninsular Spain and the 245kV network in the Balearic Islands.
The supply to the sole transmission agent and operator (TSO) of the Spanish electricity system will be carried out over the next two years under contracts established in the last semester with Red Eléctrica.
The projects follow on from the 2021 contracts, with Efacec remaining one of the largest suppliers of power transformers for Red Eléctrica.
Efacec has established itself as one of the main players in the strong investments taking place in the Spanish transport network until 2026, to respond to the massive integration of renewable energy generation, the need for international interconnection and non-peninsular territories and improving the security of the Spanish electrical system.
“Spain is a benchmark market and a very positive example of Efacec’s work and skills in the energy sector. Over these 20 years, Red Eléctrica has thrown us countless challenges that have turned into opportunities, applying our technology, valences and skills. We will remain committed to extending the efficiency of the network to other regions and the Balearic Islands” says Michael Silva, Chief Commercial Officer of Efacec.
Since 2001, Efacec has been present in the Spanish market, with around 25,000 MVA of transformers in operation in various Spanish utilities and has been preferred by Red Eléctrica for over 15 years, reinforcing its presence in a strategic market with yet another reference project and highly complex in the TSOs of Europe.
