The future of 6G networks is being prepared by Efacec, alongside 13 partners, which is developing the HORSE project – Holistic, Omnipresent, Resilient Services for Future 6G Wireless and Computing Ecosystems – promoting new activities within the scope of 6G Smart Network Services (SNS), projecting the needs, functionalities and threats of the near future in terms of communications.
Based on research into new technologies, the project aims to strengthen 6G networks to promote technological progress on the Internet of Things (IoT), new devices and software, supported by new network principles and with standardization in mind.
The main focus of the HORSE project is the holistic investigation approach aimed at designing, developing and validating an autonomous, self-evolving and extensible 6G architecture that offers security in terms of information flows and provides greater resilience to services and applications.
This project also intends to demonstrate how applications and services can boost the continuous evolution of these networks and their potential while ensuring security, and artificial intelligence for managing connections and services and orchestrating network resources.
Efacec follows the latest technological advances, contributing to the definition and validation of use cases, supported by Metro/Rail operations, which will benefit from the advantages of 6G networks and thus improve our solutions technologically, as well as strengthen the innovation ecosystem.
The HORSE consortium brings together 14 partners with complementary skills in research and innovation who are effectively contributing to the networks of the future, namely Efacec and three industrial partners – Atos, Telefónica, Ericsson- and four research centers – CNIT, Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Technical University of Braunschweig and NKUA – and six SMEs – Martel Innovate, Suite5 Data Intelligence, HOLO, ZORTENET, Sphynx Technologies Solutions and 8BELLS.
