Efacec was chosen to implement Portugal’s first free-market solar parks, located in Santiago do Cacém and Castelo de Vide. With a combined area of about 70 hectares, these infrastructures have a production capacity of more than 70GWh per year. The operation of solar power stations is expected to start later this year.

EXUS Management Partners awarded Efacec with two contracts for PV solar power plants of Casa Nova 12MWp and Tendeiros 24MWp on a turnkey basis (complete EPC with O&M). With this agreement Efacec reinforces its positioning in the solar market, with an important player in the renewable market.

The two contracts are for two solar power plants and include supply engineering, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and guarantees of associated electrical machinery and equipment. It should be noted that among the main equipment of solar power plants are Efacec equipment.

Considering that a house in Portugal consumes an average of 3,700 kWh / year, it is possible to conclude that photovoltaic solar power plants will be able to supply electricity annually to more than 19 000 houses, resulting in a savings of about 3.3 tons CO2 /year. These parks thus contribute significantly to Portugal achieving sustainable goals and Portugal2020 goals.

Regarding renewable energy, Efacec develops solutions for solar systems, including self-consumption, hybrid systems and large-scale park turnkey.
