On December 15, Efacec’s auditorium at Arroteia, in Matosinhos, was the venue for the meeting of the Strategic Council of the Portuguese Railway Platform (PFP). Also on the same day, Efacec held the General Assembly of the PFP.
The last meeting of the year of the Strategic Council included the presentation of conclusions from the 1st Workshop of the PFP Thematic Working Groups, as well as a debate on the various investments underway in the railway sector, urgent and relevant in the current national political context.
The event, which sought to promote mutual knowledge between the entities that make up the Strategic Council, was attended by Frederico Francisco, Assistant Secretary of State for Infrastructures, and representatives of the Council’s main entities, including Alstom; APDL – Administração dos Portos do Douro, Leixões e Viana do Castelo; Fertagus; Incomef; ISEL – Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa; Medway; Metro do Porto; Sermec II; Siemens Mobility and Somafel.
In 2024, PFP’s main objectives will be to boost business among its members, both nationally and internationally, encouraging research and innovation throughout the railway sector and increasing the competitiveness and visibility of its associates.
PFP is the railway cluster in Portugal, bringing together all the main stakeholders in the sector, promoting the analysis and discussion of all the projects and challenges facing the railway industry. Since the project was founded, Efacec has been one of the main companies involved, thus representing the industry responsible for the development of some of the largest metro-rail infrastructures in Portugal.
