A leader in the segment of PV Self Consumption in Portugal, Efacec was chosen to execute four new photovoltaic plants located in Azores, Beja, Vila Nova de Famalicão and Guimarães. The sustainability gains obtained with these PV plants are equivalent to the planting of about 70,000 trees and reinforce Efacec’s strong commitment to sustainability.
With a capacity of 1.43 MW and 1 MW, the photovoltaic plants of Vila Nova de Famalicão and Guimarães, respectively, were awarded by the client TMG Textile and TMG – Automotive. These projects will avoid the emission of 5,850 tons of CO2, equivalent to the planting of 37,000 trees, at the same time generating energy for 1,049 homes.
Also, on the island of Santa Maria, in Azores, will be born a new power plant with a capacity of 600 kW, aiming to make this island energetically more independent. The international public tender, launched by EDA Renováveis S.A., was a turn-key solution scope. Supplying about 500 houses, this plant prevents the production of 504 tons of CO2.
Awarded to Efacec by EDIA – Development and Infrastructure Company of Alqueva S.A, the Moura photovoltaic plant in Beja will allow the distribution of energy to 801 houses. One of the objectives is to reduce the ecological footprint, avoiding the emission of 901 tons of CO2, equivalent to planting about 20 thousand trees. This a project with single axis tracker, which allow optimization of the energy production during the day.
